Specimen 73: “Spitting Hive Soldier”

Dissection confirms a close relation to Specimen 70 “Bursting Hive Soldier.” Their overall anatomies share significant similarities, and both possess the organ responsible for producing caustic orange bile. However, this creature contains far less of the substance1. In compensation, it has been given the ability to project the bile at range. Once adhered to an enemy’s flesh or armor, the compound is capable of dissolving both organic and metallic matter over the course of several minutes—with equal potency.

My field medics report that, unlike Specimen 70, these creatures do not exhibit a complete disregard for self-preservation. Instead, they operate behind the front lines, marking high-priority enemy targets with their corrosive acid. This appears to provide a signal to the Skordyre Infantry, directing them to swarm those weakened foes first.
