Frizzt had been barely more than a fry when he first left the ocean behind—a fierce young scholar both blessed and cursed by the assuredness of youth. When he had presented his findings to the council, they had dismissed his concerns out of hand. But Frizzt knew he was right. He had studied the Erland tablet, and its implications were clear: Rediscovery of the Wellsprings would lead to the rediscovery of the Citadel and spell doom for all who called Valhalla home, both above and below the waves. He left the next day.

It has been twelve years since Frizzt last spoke to a member of his own species. Those he once called friends would hardly recognize the person he has become; still a scholar, but with the heart of a warrior now as well. He had Jandar and his people to thank for that transformation. The Valkyrie had taken Frizzt in unquestioningly and did not push when Frizzt insisted that he could reveal nothing about his people. That small act of trust won Frizzt’s loyalty.

Over the intervening years, as the Valkyrie all summoned warriors from distant worlds, Jandar’s choices continued to impress Frizzt. His commitment to finding a way to send the off-worlders home never wavered, and he had a passion for summoning both valiant fighters and impassioned underdogs. Of those, Frizzt forged a particular bond with the Mariedians and Omnicron Soulborgs from Alpha Prime. They strove against impossible odds on their home planet because they knew it was the right thing to do, and they do the same here on Valhalla.

Now, after all this time, Frizzt and his closest friend Zetacron lead a small band of Mariedian soldiers to the shore. The mission is for Frizzt to establish contact with the Gelryie vanguard that have allied themselves with Vydar, ideally entreating his people to peace. However, to Frizzt, his species and his people stopped being the same some years ago.
