Deathwalker 10000
“I do not understand their derision towards you,” states Zetacron. The massive Soulborg’s voice echoes from his chest with a synthesized ebb and flow.
Frizzt shrugs, squinting at the light shining into their large command tent.
“They had their heads stuck up their conches when I left. I didn’t expect anything different coming back.”
“People can change, over time,” Zetacron says, the small mechanical arms that fold out from his chest crossed in concern. “I hoped they would.”
“You’ve been alive for thousands of years,” says Frizzt, raising a spined brow. “Have you changed much?”
Zetacron is about to reply when a Mariedian soldier bursts into the tent, gasping for air.
“Please, come quick,” he says. “Our representative is out of line.”
Frizzt snatches up the RA-1A as he dashes out of the tent with Zetacron close behind and they step out onto the bright beach of Anund—and then stare up in horror.
Their delegate from Loviatäk’s court, Deathwalker 10,000, is marching slowly down the beach as panicked Gelryie point tridents at the gargantuan war machine and Mariedian soldiers crowd around the Deathwalker’s feet, screaming for it to stop charging its massive cannon.
“Wait!” Frizzt shouts, and then the world is a flood of blinding crimson as a shockwave sends Zetacron reeling and Frizzt flying off of his feet.
KRAAKKOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!
Everything spins for a few moments, until the oxygenator in his suit catches up and Frizzt pulls his head up from the ground.
A four hundred foot line of beach is now charred, the sand turned to blackened glass and littered with the bones of Jandar’s Mariedians and Vydar’s Gelryie alike. The smoldering helmets of Zetacron’s friends and the shell-shaped armor of Frizzt’s people lie melted almost beyond recognition.
Deathwalker 10,000 stands alone on the beach, its gigantic cannon steaming. It turns to look slowly at Frizzt, staring with red optical lenses, its voice a darker tide than Zetacron’s:
“Enemies exterminated.”
